Carey Lodge is a purpose built care home for 75 older people, which opened in 2009. The home is split into five smaller communities (Houses), each with its own lounge, dining and kitchenette facilities. Three houses provide residential places and the other two provide specialist dementia care. The home has been designed to meet very high environmental standards, with wide corridors for easy wheelchair access and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Set in pleasant grounds on the edge of the small village of Wing, overlooking the church on one side, a school and countryside on the other, Carey Lodge is a warm and friendly home. Activities, events and visiting entertainers provide a busy social life for residents. Shopping facilities, pubs, the doctor's surgery and the local church are also located nearby. We have very close links with the secondary school next door and numerous pupils volunteer at the home.
